I've had a letter over the weekend from CDI- we left ireland during the financial crisis due to no work, .

..I had a small unsecured loan with boi

-haven't paid anything off the loan since June 2011,

it's about €2500

- they've sent me a letter via an international DCA, who are based in Kent...

Any advice??

Ignore them. They are simply a debt collector looking to earn a percentage on anything they collect. If BOI wanted to enforce the debt in the UK they could do, as there are cross border debt enforcement agreements between Ireland and UK.

I doubt anything will happen. As they are just a debt collection agency they have no powers. Whoever owns this debt i.e BOI or new debt owner if sold, would have to go to a UK court to try to enforce the debt and you would have to be sent documents by the court, so you had a chance to respond.

We could do with some help from you.

and the DCA is?

sb date will be 6yrs + a month or 2 ontop from your last payment.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
