A mother, furious at waiting more than 48 hours for her online shopping, stormed into her local Asda and took it from the shelves herself.

Danni Leadbeater, 30, ordered a £50 shop from the supermarket for herself and her two young children last week.

However, it failed to turn up twice after her order was cancelled by the store and then re-booked.

And after waiting more than two days, and being charged twice for it, she took matters into her own hands.

She went into the Eastlands superstore, opposite Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and began taking the items from the shelves and piling them into a trolley.

After a stand-off with staff and security, and an intervention from the company’s HQ, she was eventually allowed to leave without paying for it again.

However she has slammed the store for the way she was treated and has vowed never to shop with them again, reports Manchester Evening News.

ASDA really are a rubbish store. They are not bothered about how they theat their customers or staff. I have heard of staff being treated appallingly.

I use Tesco Home delivery occasionally and they are very good. Most of the time they have everything ordered and when they don't, a better product is provided. Never has any problem with them.

Have you noticed that there are now very few supermarket TV adverts ? At one time, they were on all of the time.

We could do with some help from you.

I've been waiting 6 months for a call back from Asda customer services - and that's after ringing them 3 times to chase them up........... hopeless!

However it did not turn up during the allocated slot between 3pm and 5pm on Friday with Danni being informed it had been cancelled due to a ‘shortage of delivery drivers.’

She was told she would have to re-book it, and re-pay whilst waiting 7-10 days for a refund on the previous order.

This is something that would have really annoyed me - they take your money up front - cancel your order - then demand you pay again whilst having to wait 10 days for a refund !! She had already paid for the undelivered order !!

Sometimes the individual just has to take direct action and stand up to appalling service. The fact that they charged her again and she would have to wait many days for her original payment to be returned would have likely have tipped me over the edge..
