A mother tells how a mystery donor left money on her windscreen towards a parking ticket she received while in hospital with her son.

An Edinburgh mother has told how "touched" she was after a mystery donor left money on her car windscreen towards a parking ticket she received while in hospital with her son.

Mairi Holden had parked in Sylvan Place so she could rush her son, Oscar, 4, who was having difficulty breathing, to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

She had not thought she was staying the night when she parked on Wednesday.

When the 35-year-old returned to her car on Thursday she had two tickets.

However, when she looked closer, underneath the tickets was a note, which read "Pay it then forget it happened!" with £25.

Ms Holden has since doubled the donation and used it to set up a Just Giving Page for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children to show her thanks and to let others know that a Random act of Kindness can snowball .

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

A very kind stranger put £25 under my parking ticket after I parked on a single yellow line outside The Sick Kids Hospital Edinburgh.

I had to get Oscar in as soon as I could, and ended up having an overnight stay.

I am starting by doubling the money I received and putting it back into the hospital.

I would like to see how one person's kindness can have a huge impact on the world so many other people's lives.

Already the page has received 394 donations totalling over £5,000 :)
