I started a new job two weeks ago.

I was suspicious as the recruiter said for me to get the job the hiring manager has asked me to drop my rate.

I just called the recruiter out on it and said that if your client thinks they are paying me one thing and you aren't - that isn't right.

As I think they are charging margin on my hours worked (normal) but also made my rate go down and taking that extra amount themselves.

Is that even legal?! Can I sue them with evidence gathered?

You could sue if you are able to prove three things:

1) You were told you would only get the job if you agreed to drop your rate.

2) That statement was untrue.

3) The employment agency knew the statement was untrue.

Can you prove these things? What evidence do you have?
