I am current on a Stepchange DMP. £35 k unsecured, I also have £26k in secured overdraft attached to woolwich mortgage not on DMP

Couple of issues recently which prompted me to review

1 Stepchange pushed for increase payment, having done so Barclaycard have changed from frozen interest to 12% as I have demonstrated I can pay more.

2 Halifax refused to continue with DMP, sent me statement and when I called to discuss offered partial settlement at 75%

This as I say prompted me to begin looking at Stepchange and F&F

Having read this forum at length and getting a game plan togeather I requested credit report as precursor to CCA.

My initial questions are regarding credit report

I have 2 Barclaycard accounts, started 2002 now with PRA, these show no financial details pre sept 2015, why is this? I assume I have DF ( as its with Pra ) and its past 6 years is this a safe assumption ?

Halifax and Tesco account shows DF every month for 18 months despite payments via DMP?,

I am in fact finding mode, before initially reducing my payments to Stepchange, serving CCA and doing F&F where applicable. Allowing me to focus on the secured debt

Any help and guidance would be appreciated

seems your doing the right things...

sar time to get all the statements and get reclaim penalty fees and PPI

on the bank accounts.

same for the cards and loans

I take it you blindly accepted the plan

without checking the legality of the cards/loans?

as stepchange don't!

you need to send a CCArequest for each one.

whom are yu paying through the plan

the original creditor or a fleecing DCA?

when did you start each debt too please..

sri missed a bit

all your debts should have been defaulted by the oc when they sold it on

or you missed your third payment

should be a default listed in the debt summary

if not, write to the oc and complain.

also i'd get any income out of the hands of any bank that might own your debts

I am mainly doing the right thing due to the posts you and others have already placed

I saw your previous posts to others re all info on individual accounts etc and plan to do so, just had the initial queries on the credit report.

I just accepted the Stepchange recommendations, having been in denial for so long.

2 of my debts for Barclaycard are via PRA, rest with original. It was the PRA ones which I was confused on as nothing was showing pre sept 2015

Accounts

Tesco credit card £3358

Start 29/01/2008

DF date 5/3/2014

Barclaycard now with PRA £ 2988

Start 23/10/2006

No financial info showing prior to Sept 2015

Barclaycard now with PRA £2871

Start 6/4/2002

No financial info showing prior to Sept 2015

Barclaycard £9514

Start 20/2/2008

Not DF but showing payment 5 months late on sept 2014

Halifax credit card

Start 13/7/2004

DF date 2/4/2014

Barclays Additions account £3868

Start 8/11/1984

DF start date 7/10/2014

I also have a Barclays select loan on DMP £8931

What will be the story with the 2 currently with PRA, showing no history pre Sept 2015?

My understanding is that after 6 years the debt vanishes, but is still owed, however my credit improves?

I am in my 50' mortgage 10 years remaining and have no plans for credit going forward so not too hang up about the credit

Objective is to clear my debts, as cheaply and quickly as possible, so there is no cloud on the horizon as I approach retirement

And the PRA missing info?

typical of PRA group

prob find it was a sale from another DCA to try and hide the original origin of the debt.

My wife's first reply to a CCA from Lowells

I have cancelled the Direct Debit for you and have now requested copies of statements for the account and once we have received these, they will be forwarded to you.

Please be aware that this can take up to 60 days however, in some cases can take longer.

In the meantime, the account has been taken out of the collections cycle and if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Kind Regards,

We assume that as they have ceased collections etc, this is a positive?

  • 2 weeks later...

Well today I receive my first CCA reply

PRA state, "we are currently unable to locate your account to action your request, as you have not provided the correct reference number. Could you please send us the relevant information.

My CCA request states the credit card number, do I need to furnish more?

Do I need to respond at all or just ignore as in disputes as no CCA?

Re the respond my thought was send reply no refs, include copy of their letter, which has no refs, stating until CCA complied, disputed. So have clear audit trail and they should not be passing debt on?
