Hi my husband applied for an extension of stay using application flr fp on the grounds of having a British partner he received a letter yesterday saying: thank you for you application to stay in the uk, your application has issues relating to the European convention of human rights therefore it falls outside our normal service standards we will make a decision as quickly as possible. I just wondered what it means falls outside our normal service standards. Will it take longer than normal to get a decision? Thanks

Can you please add further history to your thread like dates of entry and status of their stay in the UK as it currently is. What have you done thus far to sort out the extension things like this will help you get the advice you need...

I am inclined to think it does mean longer than normal. The published service standards for something straightforward is often six months (though in reality less than that).

In England advise is a verb (a doing word) advise/advising/advised, advice is a noun. I might ask for advice or give advice.

The same with license (verb) license/licensing/licensed, but one would have a driving licence (noun).
