Hi there

I have had a credit card debt with Capital One of £621 that was sold to Lowell in Sept 15,

I have been receiving the standard letters from them,

however today they have sent me a Pre Legal assessment threatening court action.

Have yet to respond to any letters acknowledging the debit

I am living in N.Ireland, not sure if that makes a difference.

Any advise would be appreciated

Thanks

I took a credit card out in 12/05/2010 with a credit Limit of £500,

defaulted on this 11/09/2014 when I Lost my Job.

This has been passed to a few different DCA before being sent back to C O in the summer last year,

and then again sold to Lowell in Sept

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

You have to laugh at Lowlifes 'Pre department' this and 'Pre department' that, incredibly immature.

I used to send them my 'Pre getting off my backside and giving a damn' letter......

Hi Guys thanks for the replies so far.

I have no statements any longer. What do you reckon I do at the moment, hold tight ? Wait for another "threat" to be sent ?

Do you know if they levied any fees/charges on the account at all?

Has it definitely been sold to lowlifes or are they just the gophers?

Is that a begging letter from Lowlifes?

Can't really make it out without the header and footer?

IMO ignore it, it is a standard computer generated missive they spit out, with all the usual threats that they have carried out a credit file check

who cares if you own your own home and have other credit that you're servicing?

The thing is I am not even a home owner lol

PDF is portable digital format, something that your uploads need to be converted into in order for them to be viewed.

However I managed to view it OK, albeit sideways.

If you don't own your own home then that should tell you just how much notice you need to take of their computer generated threat letter..........NONE!

It is purely psychological, once you realise this then their letters cease to have any effect or credibility.

I'm also intrigued by the term ''Letter 'before' claim''??

Now is that another tactic to exploit a debtors lack of knowledge?

A ''Letter before action'' I have heard of and is common place, as it means exactly what it says, but a LBC I'm thinking is another of these foolish clowns play on words and a direct attempt at appearing to make out legal action is imminent, a bit like issuing SD's as a debt collection method, or fabricating letters to look like they were court a summons?

Oh no I know it's bog roll, but I'm just suspicious of the use of that sentence 'Letter before claim'.

It is IMO a deliberate attempt at exploiting a debtors lack of knowledge.
