old orange account defaulted and still showing **WON DEFAULT REMOVED**

Hi people

 

I have a Orange/EE account listed on all my credit files with a balance of £489.

 

 

I can see the account started in 06/2002 and is still marked as active nearly 14 years later.

It also states it is FCS disconnected whatever that means!

 

My problem is that i do not ever remember having a contract with Orange.

I remember i was at University at that point and used to use a BT celnet sim card.

 

Ive read something about debt being statute barred,

dose this account qualify as statute barred?

 

How do i go about sorting this out when i know nothing about it?

So on your credit file you have an entry for a contract you know nothing about?

 

You should contact the credit ref agency and inform them that this isn't your account therefore they are reporting inaccurate data and it needs to be corrected.

Were BT not trying to buy out Orange/EE last year, not sure if the sale ever went through.

are you being chased for it?

 

shouldn't be showing if that's the case

tell CRA's to mark account as disputed as not yours and contact Orange/EE in writing to dispute the existence of the account and demand proof of debt or removal of entry on your files and an apology in cash

Yeah its old and I never knew anything of it till I signed up for a free Noddle account.

Ive never received any paperwork from them at all.

 

 

Ive contacted Noddle and they emailed back saying they are going to contact orange.

 

 

ericsbrother- I like the idea of getting some cash from them. I think I need to type a letter asap

I emailed customer relations at EE and have managed to get them to remove the entry from my credit reports. Its no longer showing. Yay
