Hi,

I received a pcn in an RCP car park in Manchester a couple of days ago. It's currently at £50 but goes up to £100 if i don't pay it in 14 days :( I bought a ticket for 12 hours that covered the time I was there, stuck it to the windscreen and clearly at some point in the three hours before the pcn was issued this fell off the windscreen. I still have the ticket which shows the time bought clearly before the time the pcn was issued.

I've read that the general advice is to ignore and see if I get a letter, but I'm currently in the process of buying a house as well as a load of other stressful things going on so It's tempting to just pay the £50 and be done with it...

Hi and welcome to CAG.

Most (if not all) of us would say ignore but if you feel it could be easier to pay get it over with, that is your option.

My view, you bought a ticket stuck it to your windscreen. Obviously the glue wasn't strong enough to keep it there. I would wait for the NTK to arrive then appeal it on the grounds that you did buy the ticket but for reasons beyond your control, it fell off. DO NOT send the original ticket to them, only a photocopy.

If you can, go back to the site and take pictures of the signs

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

Up to you, they have to send a Notice to keeper between 29 and 56 days after the event and then you can post up their letter so we can poke holes in it.

Alternatively you can write to them enclosing a copy of the ticket (not original) and ask them to cancel as the ticket was erroneously issued. Dont go into any details as they will then find reasons to be pernickity
