Sadly there are a few rather warped minds out there..

'Lunar creep!': Twitter Scrooges pick apart the message of festive joy in John Lewis's new £7m Christmas ad – as students mock it with dodgy £700 remake

•Man On The Moon ad features a little girl, 6, sending an old man a present

•Aims to highlight lonely older people but was branded 'creepy' on Twitter

•Also likened it to Brass Eye episode when they blasted a 'paedo' into space

•Students made a hilarious shoestring budget version in just seven hours

•But most found it moving and 72 per cent said it was favourite Christmas ad

.

It cost £7million and took seven months to make but the John Lewis Christmas advert has met mixed reactions online - with some branding it 'creepy'.

The touching advert tells the story of a little girl determined to send a present to a lonely old man on the moon - that she spies through a telescope - to show he is not forgotten about this Christmas.

A Mail Online poll reveals that a massive 72 per cent of readers though it was the best Christmas advert this year, but Twitter took a slightly different message, branding the old man a 'paedo'.

Probably all instigated by other companies who are jealous of the sheer wizardry of John Lewis.

It is brilliance and we all believed in the man in the moon when we were little.

Mum and Dad giving you a toy car is just another toy but being given something all wrapped up from Father Christmas is something special.

Fairy tales and Santa Clause are magic to the young and should always be encouraged, I can still remember all the wonderment of Christmas and just hope todays kids get the same unadulterated pleasure I remember having.

Sainsbury’s OFFICIAL Christmas Advert 2015 – Mog’s Christmas Calamity

Does Mog save Christmas.

Has Sainsbury's won the battle of the Christmas TV ads? Viewers claim hilarious commercial featuring the return of Mog the Cat has put John Lewis and other festive offerings to shame

Mog has saved Christmas i am nearly in tears, happiness surrounds me.

I am so happy i could dance- sing-spin around and may just do that

I must admit that John Lewis advert is a fine Christmas advert. As well.

I checked the Coke advert out and was underwhelmed though i like the trucks.

I will combine them so you can take a peek rather than one.

I like to feel Christmassy.

Read there are thirty thousand bulbs on each truck, somewhere.

Yes, sad about the music. I love where they short the TVs and get the kids outside in the snow.
