My son parked in one of Newcastles multi storey car parks and bought and displayed a £5 valid ticket. Came back to find PCN stating he'd parked in a hotel reserved place! There was no signs or markings in parking bay and he'd deliberately driven up from another level as those below did have signs at the front of each bay showing reserved. He said there was something on the base of the level of the floor above but which was well above eye height and he thought that was apertaining to the floor above.

We've tried to appeal to council but have been turned down. They said they enclosed a photo showing this but hadn't, so have rung today and they said they'll send it through.

Has anybody ever tried to appeal against anything like this and won before?

Came back to find pcnlink3.gif stating he'd parked in a hotel reserved place!

There is no such contravention with that wording. What was the exact wording on the PCN?

Without picturesof the sign/s and of the location of the sign/s it's very difficult to advise whether they were misleading.

Agreed, we need the contravention code number and description from the PCN.

Then, if it's a feasible PCN for the circumstances, images showing the signage. It's a matter of opinion what is good enough.

Thereafter, there is the issue of car park terms and conditions, and what the off-street parking order has to say.
