did you move between the time of opening the account to the CCJ?

it might be simpler to pay it and the get a certificate of satisfaction from the issuing court

however, that's no guarantee that it wont effect your rental application?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Row,

We can reinstate the first post for you, so it makes sense to other readers. Will that be ok with you ?

What gym was this. If you lost your job and wanted to cancel the m/ship, you had every right to.

The gym or their admin company had no right to hold you to the agreement if you made them aware of redundancy.

I'm going to seek advice about whether you have any chance of getting the claim Set Aside. I fear it may be too late, given how far back the CCJ was made, and the fact that there's been no change of address.

I'll come back on this.

Hi Row,

Opinion from Site Team with great experience :-

"Judgment is almost 4 years old ...... only another 2 to wait and it disappears ...... OP could try a set aside application on non-receipt of paperwork and a very good reason why now.....I suppose its a risk and if the fee is worth the gamble?"

Would you consider it worth trying to get the judgement set aside. Unless you qualify for fee remission, a fee of £155 is payable.

Is there any good reason for the CCJ not being challenged before ?
