I believe in some stores police had to be called last year.

Is it fun for some,or do you dread this day.

A difficult day for being a security guard or a assistant in these stores,i should imagine.

 

Some stores i have heard many workers try to book the day off.

I first heard of it when I lived in the USA from 2005 - 2008. I found the idea quite unpleasant then, and was disappointed when it became a "thing" over here as well. I'm not some sort of anti-consumer moralist or anything, but this day seems to bring out the worst in some people.

I have just been looking in America.

The retailers are already advertising for this day.Heavily.

There does not yet seem to be many British Retailers trying as hard to entice people in.

Well, we don't have Thanksgiving as the hook. I always thought of Thanksgiving as a fairly unassuming but rather nice holiday: people will eat and drink (in some cases) a lot and spend time with family and friends, but there were no gifts or rampant commercialisation. Well, not until someone thought up Black Friday at least. Interestingly, a lot of retailers in the US are now announcing that they will be closed on Thanksgiving Day itself - apparently they think that doing so will help their sales. This has to be a good thing.

 

I'd be quite happy if the whole "Black Friday" thing died a death here, though I suppose it's too late for that now.

Asda, I think, have said they're not doing it this year.

 

I find the whole rather sad.

Ah -Asda.

I saw pictures of this in my town last year.

Like wolves after TVS.I had never seen anything like it.Fighting over a TV.

A wise decision perhaps.

I feel staff are in danger at this time,saw some nearly in tears.

This has roused me to take camera and observe things.On this day to come.

I cant recall ever seeing such shameful behaviour from the consumers in this country - the images that were on television where shocking.
