Hi

Not sure if this is the right place to put this.

I was fined by the courts and was making payments but stopped when I left a job.

They've now sent a letter saying they've told my work to do a detachment of earnings.

Will they have told my work what the fine was for or will it just say that I've fallen behind etc?

Worried now that work will now too much!

Hi,

I'd think they will only tell your employer a debt is due and not what the debt is, that's got nothing to do with your employer.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

If in doubt, you should seek the opinion of a Qualified Professional.

Great thanks I hope so! Bad enough work knowing I couldn't keep up with the payments without how much I got fined!

Did your employer ask you to declare any convictions?

If so:

A) was the post exempt from the rehab of offenders act, or

B) within a year of the fine (6 months if under 18 when the fine was imposed)

If so, did you declare it?

you can get attachment of earnings orders from the civil courts so not necessarily to do with criminal convictions. You shouldnt be so presumptive Bazza

I was fined by the courts

Remind me : what presumption have I made?

although I agree, the header does say court fine.

So, the post title says "court fine" and the OP says "fined by the courts" in the body of their text.
