The last couple of days I have started reviving these strange text meesages that say Who is This? And Who are You?.

I do not know who is sending them I do not know the mobile number they are being sent from and have never seen number before.

I have checked with every one I know and it is no one I know number. I have never phoned or text this number before by mistake either.

I haven't replied to any of the text messages at the moment as was worried it might be a [problem]. I am with giff gaff so pay as you go and only buy goodie bags I never add or have credit.

Would I be safe to text back to tell them to stop if it is a [problem].

What do you think I should do? I am also worried as I've had problems with a stalker in the past, they knew where I lived and worked. I had to get the police involved. The police never found out who it was but I moved away and it stopped.

But I'm always worried they will find me again. I know I'm probably just parinoid but when I get strange messages or phone calls I worry that it's them.

Any advice much appreciated

Thanks in Advance

Here you go.

I wouldn't respond to the messages, it is possible that it is someone who is trying to obtain information from you.

How often are you receiving the messages ?

Well it is nuisance messages you are receiving, so yes report it in the same way. Although you could also take up dx100uk's offer to private message him and he will check the number for you :)

Could it be from a dept collector trying to verify the number / identity of the person?

I'd be tempted to get someone else to call it randomly and record the call, make it out like a sales call to see if you recognise the voice. Would then also know if it is an actual person or not.
