I wouolldtnt think that the organ itself would be comparable, however heart valves from pigs hearts have been used in the past.

DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FEES TO COLD CALLERS PROMISING TO WRITE OFF YOUR DEBTS

DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FEES FOR COSTLY TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS WITH SO CALLED "EXPERTS" THEY INVARIABLY ARE NOTHING OF THE SORT

BEWARE OF QUICK FIX DEBT SOLUTIONS, IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT INVARIABLY IS

You can make the organ from a pig suitable for human transplant by genetic engineering, However the dangers of cross species disease jumping from pig to human were too great. It was a nice idea for a time but too dangerous.

I'm on the organ donor register, the bone marrow donor register, though I'm not sure they'd want my organs now due to the meds I take.

My husband is adamant he doesn't want his organs donated, and despite being very pro donation myself, I will go with what he wants for his body.

I also agree with 'opt out'......and so does my husband - he has no problem registering his wish not to donate and feels others who feel strongly would do the same and use the opt out.

Well, to answer my own question, if you thick the relevant box when applying or renewing your driving licence, you get automatic registration to the nhs organ donation register.

I received my donor card and confirmation letter from nhs explaining that I am registered and don't need to do anything else (unless I change my mind)
