I purchased one of those three Mi-Fi devices. The HUAWEI E586 that you can run up to 5 Wi-Fi devices at once.

After about 5 minutes i get the dreaded yellow triangle on my desktop limited connectivity. The signal is 100% on the router and on computer.

Looking at all the forums this is an issue with the network adapter and windows 8.1 whenever windows updates. If i put the sim from the Mi-Fi device into a normal dongle i have no problems

Even though these forums are littered with the problem, very little info on rectifying the problem as this has nothing to do with three, but windows 8.1 and Microsoft updates to the network adapter

It has gone again

I leave it for the last 40 minutes running and fine. As soon as i start web searching, uploads and downloads, it goes to limited connectivity.

And Microsoft are making updates compulsory in windows 10???

Give me strength

Just thought i would update as problem now sorted for future reference.

It seems Microsoft likes to look after you. You simply have to go into settings and allow downloads restrictions for metered connections (Pay as you go) to be turned off.

The 3 MiFi device is now working as it should, shame i could have not got the answer from either 3 customer support, Microsoft, or Huawei

It took a YouTube link to sort it for what is a known problem from windows 8, 8.1 and 10 operating systems
