I didn't know that so I started to do some hovering. What does it mean when it says informative/authoritative after the CAG member's name please.

This info's quite old I'm not sure if it still works this way :)

Green boxes reflect positive feedback and are accumulated when other members give positive feedback.

To be the recipient of a red box means that the member has been given negative feedback.

Negative feedback is only given if there has already been warnings given about negative postings, and they are repeated.

If a member had 3 or 4 green boxes and negative feedback was given, then it would remove one of those green boxes.

But if a member has only 1 green box and attracts negative feedback, then by default it will turn to red.

The easiest way to avoid red boxes,is to take notice of warnings from the site team and comply with site rules.

In this instance it seems that those warnings were not heeded.

By default everyone starts with 1 green.

Further ones are accumulated as points levels increase, and hovering over yours will display a message.

User Novitiate 0-99 points

User Informative 100 points

User Highly informative 250 points

User Authoritative 600 points

User Highly authoritative 1000 points.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

Thanks for the highly authoritative info. No points or prizes in the Bear Garden for those who don't know but the diversity platform is a tonic, that's all you need.

BTW is there a point to the points

It would be interesting if you could hover on a blob and be guided to the post to which it relates.

Every user can check positive feedback they have received In their User CP. It does say which thread it relates to. You cannot view others peoples feedback.

What are grey blobs given for rep, only seen in your control panel. I understand if it's given in Bear Garden it won't be green but what if the post was on main site.

I think you get a Grey blob from newbies, not sure mind I'll see if I can find out :)

Grey blobs ?

If you look at your rep list CB, there will be a few Grey blobs, I think they are from someone with a low post count.

That will explain this then. I was reppd on this http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?312954-First-Post-to-say-Hi-and-try-to-understand-Swift-Advances....&p=4264469#post4264469 post 51 funny coincidence about green blobs:madgrin: in the main forum. My scales were clicked on and positive feedback. So it is only Caggers with higher post count who produce a green blob. If a lower poster thinks you've been helpful why is it seen as different to a higher poster?

You've started a whole new conversation CD:-D
