Hi

Does anyone have any contact details for1monthloan.co.uk. I sent a complaint to the e-mail address I had but have had no response and don't even know if the company is still trading.

Any info would be appreciated.

If you have their website link, scroll to the bottom of their page and it should have a registered/head office address.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally managed to track them down. They are part of Sunny, who in turn are part of Elevate Finance. Received an email saying they are looking into my claim for irresponsible lending and they would respond in 8 weeks. Received a response the next day saying they didn't uphold my claim but as a gesture of goodwill would refund all interest paid. Received refund in my bank today!! Happy days 😊

Hi JEC

I currently have a few outstanding payday loans that i believe were issued to me irresponsibly, how did you go about the complaint procedure to seek compensation or for the outstanding balances to be revoked?

Thanks in advance

Darren

I initially looked through my bank statements to work out how many loans I had had with each lender, amount received and amount paid back. At my worst point I had loans with 10 lenders owing approx £5000. I eventually asked for repayment plans on them all and paid them all back. It was only when Wonga decided to write people's loans off that I decided to look into irresponsible lending.

I e-mailed the complaints, department for each company and put forward a case for irresponsible lending. I mainly based this on the number of loans/rollovers I had over a period of 4 years, my other financial commitments and my earnings. I stated I did not believe that checks could have been done to establish my ability to repay. Some were quicker to respond than others. None of them admitted irresponsible lending but did offer gestures of goodwill. I have received all the interest back from Wonga, 1month loan, and Mr Lender. Payday Express and Payday UK offered 25% of the interest which I declined. These are both with the Ombudsman. Pounds to Pocket took a day to respond and said no as did Wageday advance so these are going to the Ombudsman. Just waiting to hear from Lending Stream who initially refused my claim but are now looking further into once I said I would now take it to the Ombudsman.

I would urge anyone in this trap to give this a try. 3 years ago I was in a desperate place and could see no way out. I don't owe any of these a penny and am now receiving back some of my money.
