Hi

HSBC have rejected a credit card PPI claim, stating that

'....the policy document explained how the policy worked together with the claims procedure and the exclusions that applied...

.....I also wish to bring to your attention that the Credit Agreement Form was completed and signed by you.

Your separate signature requesting the CRP confirmed that you were aware that it was optional

and that you had a period in which you had the right to cancel if you were dissatified with the cover.'

They have enclosed a copy of the Credit Card form that I signed.

I just wondered if there were any further steps I could take wth this, or is it the end of the road?

Thanks

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

The card was taken out in 2005, CRP at the same time. I believe HSBC sent me a form saying I was eligible for the card, which I then called or completed the application online. The account Has been closed since 2012.

HSBC wrote to me with the standard 'you may be eligible for PPI' letter, which was the route into the complaint.

and the reasons you gave for mis-selling on the form???

That I didn't require it, and was lead to believe it was a necessity.

The fact that they've produced the form obviously makes this difficult to prove.

As it was so long ago that the account was opened,

I can't remember the details of opening the account,

other than knowing that I received a 'pre-approved' letter of some form.

Being young and naive, I thought that PPI was something that was laid out as optional, but was something that everybody should take out.

Hi- yes it did, but I don't believe that they were questions that I was asked by HSBC, although it has been 10 years since the card was opened, so my memory of it isn't brilliant.

Thanks

in that case you had no need for the ppi

you will need to write to them pointing this out, if they still turn you down, then off to the fos

You really should send hsbc a sar to get all the facts and statements first
