Hi, I'm new to this.

 

 

I searched last night to see if other people had problems with B&Q service, quality etc.

 

 

I ordered a kitchen in July 2014 and the final sorting of the problems, delivery, breakages, wrong parts, overordering

and the worst of all mistakes in the design, occurred 2 weeks ago.

 

 

I wrote a letter of complaint back in November and I'm told there's a placatory offer in the post.

 

 

Unsure if it's a voucher or a refund at this stage.

 

 

The amount is less than I'd hoped for as I wanted to rent my place out for the Ryder cup which never happened.

 

 

I'm thinking of talking them to court and wonder if anybody has success stories in doing this?

IMHO, I would be making a list of all the time wasted - cost of eating out if you couldn't use the kitchen to cook in - especially over the Christmas period if you had guests. Then see what this "offer" is.

 

I would not be happy to have a voucher from them, I would want cash compensation.

 

But see what they have sent and also wait on others to comment.

If you want to sue for not being able to rent out during the Ryder cup then I wish you the best of luck!

 

Yes, this is irony.

 

It depends. One can claim (in contract) for losses that are "reasonably foreseeable" and that "flow naturally from the breach".

 

There is a world of difference between "I wanted my kitchen done, incidentally I couldn't use it for the Ryder cup" and "when I placed the order I made it clear I needed it done by as I told them it needed to be done so that I could rent it out for the Ryder cup"
