Hi,

Just looking for some advice.

to start i noticed a debt (ccj) on my creidt file only last week from a debt i thought had been settled. (long story)

however it hasnt and a ccj was placed on my file about a year ago at my prev address i moved from 8 years ago.

Firstly due to the move and having no knowledge about this were do i stand about getting the debt set aside?

Secondly i have made an offer as full and final settlement of 50% of debt

but they told me they accept the offer but it can only be marked on my credit file as partially satisfied.

Is this true?

Lastly if they do mark my file as partially satisfied will the CCJ

or can the CCJ be marked as satisfied.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

just to wrap up your outstanding issues from post 1

I doubt the debt is no longer showing

but the CCJ is

it wont matter if you pay in off

the CCJ is there for 6yrs from its birth regardless.

go back to the original debt

what is it?

has it PPI?

have you all the statements on it?

there might be charges to reclaim or money to be gained to offset against the debt.

we need more info.

are the people you are looking to F&F with the named claimant on the CCJ too?

if not, and anyway

pers I'd not be looking to waste money settling it early or short

it wont help your credit worthiness I bit,

it was a lloyds TSB credit card debt.

I had a company deem it unenforable agreement and paid them 25% which i now know this to be a load of rubbish.

Didnt hear anything else and moved home. 8 years later it showing as a CCJ on my credit file.

Im pretty sure they got the CCJ just before it was about to go statue barred.

So were do i stand with this debt. The CCJ is almost a year old already and they added like £800 to it in court fees, ect

what would be my best course of action with in mind getting my credit file back on track and not paying money that is basically going to get through down the drain

It may be wise to send Lloyd's tsb a SAR to find out when last payments were made

To see if it would of been statue barred at time of CCJ

if not it will show for 6 years even if you pay it today

If i have helped in any way hit my star.

any advice given is based on experience and learnt from this site :-)
