Partner went for job interview and was told that he had to do a PNC check and it would cost £10,

 

 

bearing in mind the job is security so holds a SIA badge, handed in a DBS but was told because it old he has to pay to do a PNC.

 

Get a link and when we looked its says not to give to employer,

 

 

We unsure what to do?

 

 

what would happen if he gave his employer?

DBS checks aren't portable and you need a new check for each new occupation requiring one - you can subscribe to DBS for an annual fee and can then access real time information online every time you need an update. Useful if you regularly move between employers, but of no use if you plan on staying with one employer for a while.

Any advice given is done so on the assumption that recipients will also take professional advice where appropriate.
