Hi all,

A little advice please - I recently listed an ad with Shiply for a wardrobe to be moved, accepted a quote & paid a £20 deposit.

The transport provider never replied (may of even been fake) so they credited the money onto shiply account so I could relist again. Relisted a further 2 times and still received no suitable quotes...

Upon emailing them, they've said that as it's gone past 28 days they cannot refund me - I can only use the account credit for future deliveries within 2 years

How can I get my money back?!

Hi Joe,

Sorry to hear this.

If you originally flagged the issue within the 28 days, you should likely still be entitled to refund here.

Please drop us an email to support[at]shiply.com with the subject "joescranejoe CAG" and I'll look out for it.

Shiply

Hi,

It is my belief that the terms and conditions Shiply use are not valid as they would be (in my opinion) in breach of the Consumer protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.

(CPUTR)

It is your money and as such they should refund it promptly. I would make their local Trading Standards aware of what is going on (as I'm sure others have done)

While it is only £20, if you wanted to take it that far, sue them for it via the county courts.

If any terms and conditions give a company an unfair advantage over a customer, it is automatically in breach of the rules.

I hope the Shiply rep takes note.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

I had thought much the same, they were unable to provide a suitable transport provider, the one who we chose didn't even have a valid phone number.

Worked out cheaper in the end to drive there and collect ourselves.

- shiply I have emailed you, please sort this out for me
