in post 71 june 2014 you said..........

There are no repayment terms on the CCJ or the charge order.

Surely if my water supplier wait for decades for their money it won't be worth much in many decades.

Hi HB, yes it does relate to previous threads. I just wondered if I could clear the charge order by making a much smaller cash offer to the criditor.

I have read on other financial forums about debtors offering to pay 20% of a charge order debt in cash to the creditor and having their offer accepted.

Reading through the history, you could make an offer, the worst they can do is reject it... Even if they do have a charging order.

It would be down to the Claimant to request the CO be revoked.

We could do with some help from you.

  • 1 year later...

I had a CCJ in october 2010 which I recently paid after years of saving up to satisfy it.

Today I checked my credit report with "Credit Report .co .uk"

Despite the CCJ being satisfied and also being over 6 years old, it still shows as unpaid

and still active.

I now have proof that CCJ's aren't removed from credit reports after 6 years even when they are satisfied.

Satisfying a CCJ is completely pointless and a waste of money.

I can provide a screen shot of my current credit report in jpeg format to prove this should anyone

doubt me.

I assume the law has been changed such that CCJ's remain on a credit report for ever, satisfied or otherwise.

How recently did you pay it chief?

How did you pay and to whom?

Normally takes around 4-6 weeks to fully update

Why arent you using noddle or clearscore?

Is credit report.co.uk a fee based service? The above are free and provided by the CRA's directly

Hi Martin and thanks for your reply.

I paid off the debt in cash by visiting the head office of the company who obtained the CCJ.

I paid on the exact date the CCJ should have been removed from my credit record.

They gave me a receipt for my payment.

Around four years ago I paid credit report.co.uk a fee in order to receive a free credit report once per year.

I will open an account with noddle and clear score to see if the CCJ still shows on their records.

Was the company chasing you? Did they get enforcement orders against you? If not, you just wasted that money.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

The company placed a charge order on my house and were regularly threatening me with an attachment to my pension to recover the debt.

If they had done that I wouldn't have enough money to live on.

I sold a lot of valuable posessions to help obtain the money to re-pay the debt.

Regarding wasting the money, you may be right.

My house is now being sold by divorce court order so I am going to loose it anyway in the near future.

According to the land registry, the charge order is still in force despite me paying the CCJ debt back in full.

I therefore assume when the house is sold I will have to pay the debt again from the proceeds.

I guess the company have failed to remove the charge order in order to get their money twice.

A friend told me that satisfying the CCJ doesn't automatically remove the charge order,

so I will end up paying the debt twice when the house is sold.

For those who find themselves in a similar position as the OP

Obtain a certificate of satisfaction from the court that issued the CCJ by showing them evidence (the receipt) that it has been paid.

The court then notify Trust Online.

http://www.trustonline.org.uk/understand-judgments-fines/ccjs-and-county-courts/certificate-of-satisfaction-satisfied-vs-unsatisfied-ccjs

Then the charging order can be removed.
