Moorcroft doorsteppers seem to be quiet active around the NorthWest recently.

obv xmas party was expensive then and they've been given the whip

to go fleece people at their doors.

funnily enough

I was talking to someone nameless just recently.

they were at a meeting last week whereby they were told

to farmout debts to doorsteppers

as they now have to keep copies of all letters and phone conversations to/with debts under the new FCA rules

a doorstepper can get in

get some money and get out

it can quite easily be hidden from sight

the doorstepper simply removes their commission

and sends the rest in via bank transfer

no-one is any the wiser

food for thought

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

An agent will typically collect doorsteps for a number of terrorists - usually including Akinika, Moorcroft, Scotcall - collating them to visit areas in a combined sweep on a monthly basis. I would be surprised if the North West has been particularly targeted.

Apart from the intimidatory aspect of burly bovver boys threatening vulnerable ppl at their own homes, what bothers me most is the capacity for unrecorded / unreceipted takings.

Moorcroft's doorsteppers are self-employed, and as Oleg mentions above, will often work for other companies too. They are paid on a commission only basis, and have to pay their own travel and phone expenses. From what we hear about them, it seems that training is minimal. Whilst I have no sympathy for them, they are probably just as exploited as the debtors.

Most appear to be part time - it's difficult to see how anyone could make a living from this unsavoury activity. They are easily got rid of, though.
