I have arrived at the stage when i am taking the halifax bank to court ,but i cannot remember when i first opened the accont ,what should i do or does it matter?.The reason i ask is that in the guidance notes it says that when you write to the court you state the date the account was opened

By the way halifax have offered half of my money back but i have declined their offer

Hi please start a thread in your bank forum, it does not matter if you do not know the date on your letter just say "from when the account was opened" you could also ask the bank they will know.

If you are not 100% sure just say approximately, if you can go by when you first got a statement if you know roughly when that was.

Or ring the bank and ask them, they should tell you

I QUESTION THEREFORE I AM!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Unfortunately i'm not an expert in any given field legally and my advice and that of the Consumer Action Group and the Bank Action Group is given without prejudice and without liability so please if in any doubt whatsoever seek help from an insured qualified professional. Hi Alan, welcome to the family.

Two possibilities.....

Ring your branch and say, " excuse me, I wonder if you could help to win a dispute with my Other-Half. What date did I open my account?"

Or something along that line.

Put on the MCOL form that you opened you account in 19-whatever it was and leave it at that.

Good luck with your claim.

If this has been useful to you, please click on the scales at bottom left of post. Thanks.
