I had a provident door stop loan, which I fell behind with by approx £20/week..

After speaking with my agent, I was assured I could catch up gradually and it would be fine

i.e. no damage to credit etc.. etc.. (stupidly, never got this in writing).

I was offered another loan from my agent, which I took and used to pay off the existing one, which was in arears

and was left with minimal cash, which i was grateful of at the time.

I kept up to date (and this loan was cleared back in 2013).

However, i have checked my file and the original loan, which was in arrears is showing as a deliquent account.

I rang provodent and they say there is nothing they can do.

Does anyone have any helpful tips or ways to suggest how I could get this information removed??

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If the information was placed on your file correctly I can't see you getting it removed, not sure what the score was with your agent saying it would cause no damage to your file.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

If in doubt, you should seek the opinion of a Qualified Professional.

what do you mean by delinquent?

if you mean you have a default but the sloan is settled

ot late markers

if you defaulted etc

those will be there for 6yrs regardless to if the loan was paid off

it never got to default so when i spoke to credit expert they said it means deliquent (it has a red exclamation mark at side of account) this means payments are anything from 1-5 months late but can be just as damaging

It would appear to me that your provi agent has misled you. Suggest you make an official complaint to the Provident Head office.

Just in the process of writing a letter thanks very much.

Also, in the past when we've struggled financially, myself and my partner have resorted to pay day loans,

which might I add were always paid back on time,

sometimes via rollover but mostly just outright.

These date back to 2010/2011,

however when checking my credit file,

quick quid have all of a sudden added 7 new pay day loan accounts to my file,

all dating back to 2010/2011,

all green and satisfied... but why now???

Can they do that so late in the day and is there any way of getting these removed

so I can disassociate myself from such companies now I am in a much more stable position financially
