Reminds me of the conspircy debate on the moon landings and why there have not been any further missions to the moon. We were building Austin Allegros and the US were building lunar modules. I know the US had access to the operation Paperclip scientists, but were they really decades ahead of everyone else ?

The video reminded me of the moon landings.

 

Much of the science connected to the moon landings is thought to have come from Nazi scientists who were smuggled out of Germany to the US after WW2. This is referred to as Operation Paperclip. The scientists that were working for the Nazis on all the new technology e.g new engines, nuclear, were taken by the US military after WW2 and they worked for NASA, as well as the ministry of Defence. The latest stealth aircraft are linked to the work done by these scientists. There was a recent Discovery programme about it, which is worth watching.
