Hi All

I hope I am posting in the right section and that someone can advise me.

I returned a leased car a few months ago and

now they have issued a bill for £3000 for "damage".

Although I was present during the inspection and there was a signature box for me,

the inspector simply posted the bill through my letter box and drove off.

The inspector was from the auction and I understand that he has an interest in profit

but I was left very upset for the items they were claiming many of which were lies

ie, they stated there was no service history when there was

and also lied that the puncture repair kit was not present.

To cut a long story short, we have exchanged letters,

I have offered £350 for three items of damage and they have offered to take 5% off their end.

They have threatened me with Court action and I have said that I would be happy to be heard within The Court.

The latest letter they have sent me is threatening to place a Default Notice on my Credit File and what I would like to know is:-

a) Can they do this without a Court Order

b) Could I take them to Court for harrassment for threatening to do this with a sum in dispute

c) Could I take them to Court for Breach of Contract as some of the items they were claiming

for are clearly "Wear and Tear" which they promised they would allow in their contract.

Many thanks
