Hi all.

I bought a TV from John Lewis online in the Black Friday sales.

The TV is faulty and JL say they cannot exchange as the TV is now £150 more expensive. They can only refund my money.

Is this right?

That link mentions the following:

'If something is not of satisfactory quality, you have a statutory right under the Sale of Goods Act, to a refund, have it replaced or repaired for free.

You can ask the retailer to do either, but it can normally choose to do whichever would be cheapest.'

A refund would cost them nothing, but a replacement would cost them £150. So obviously they are going to choose refund. Darn it!

The point being John Lewis said they had bargins, they invited you to queue for hours, you did so, you managed to get one of their bargins, but it doesn't work. Your mega disappointed.
