Hi all

 

 

Had a lovely letter from these charming people - want me to stump up a load of money by tomorrow - I don't think I owe it all but hey its HMRC (tax credit) right ?

 

 

Anyway was going to call them offer an amount each week but thought no ! check out the consumer action group and see what you guys think ?

First stage is to find out how this "overpayment" came about. If it can be pinned down to 'official error' on the part of HMRC, then it should be appealed straight away. In the meantime, do not telephone any DCA - Always post a letter so that you have a paper trail in place.

 

If a repayment plan needs to be set up, then it should be negotiated with HMRC directly.

No problem, please remember with DCAs and Government debts, they have no rights and only HMRC will do the litigation etc
