I have a credit account with Simply Be with a limit of £750. The current balance is almost £600.

I always pay the minimum repayment every month and have never missed a month but the repayments are getting higher and higher.

I know that only making the minimum payment each month is only very slowly chipping away at the balance. I have been trying to sell bit and bobs, doing online surveys etc to try and earn some extra each month so I can make above the minimum.

I feel like it's a long shot but I don't suppose it is possible to freeze interest on the account whilst I repay the balance? I am completely fine with not being able to purchase on the account anymore, especially with the remaining credit.

Yep. Write to them, advise them you are experiencing financial difficulties and ask if they will consider ceasing interest accruing for a period of 3 months, to be reviewed.

Good news.. Simply Be have frozen interest on my account to be reviewed in 6 months. The balance should be paid off by then so I'm very happy.

I had to fill in a very simple I&E form and supply a small amount of medical evidence - the reason why I wanted to make interest free repayments in the first place.

Thank you! :)

I hope the I&E didnt ask for too much info. And medical info? For a catalogue debt?

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
