Then you can be pretty certain that the "Mansion Tax" that Ed Balls & Milliband have been banging on about putting in place when they get in next time.. will either have a loophole that they can use to extract themselves or will not get off the drawing board :)

What's the surprise here?

I'm a very naive person, but even I stopped believing politicians from any party a looooong time ago.

In fact we don't really live in a democracy.

The last 3 prime ministers were not elected by the majority bbut got into power because of the electoral system they invented to fob us off.

After the first round if less than 50% majority is reached, there should be a ballot between the top 2 candidates.

Anyway, the fact that independent candidates don't get media coverage, restricts any person to be voted, unless they join a party and do what they're told.

there are a lot more labour millionaires than the ones listed and i wouldnt be too bothered about those whose assets are just one house. A terraced house in Fulham bought in 1980 for a few thousand is now worth over a million. I used to have a 2 up 2 down in Brixton that I bought for £37k in the 80's that is now worth £700k so let us consider disposable assets instead. Several labour Lords have cash reserves of £200 million but if they are self made I do not begrudge them. I do have a hang up about th Kinnock and Blair families though as it all came from public funds or as a result of their political career, funded by us.
