A leaked staff memo at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) appears to show the government is still struggling to roll out its flagship welfare programme, universal credit (UC), across the UK.

UK government has a history of major cockups in delivering any major programme. Two defence projects: Sea Viper and aircraft carriers spring to mind - Then there is the ongoing debacle with the DVLA road fund licence computer and the fact that large numbers of police officers were not informed of the changes before the roll out. Should the millions wasted on failed NHS IT projects need to be mentioned....

 

Why should we expect any less of Universal Credit ?
