hi, just noticed this article about minicredit http://www.google.info/forums/showthread.php?47704-Micro-Lend-Uk-Credit-Licence

 

Was doing a bit of research as I have an FOS complaint against them for irrresponsible lending. Have got recent emails from the lovely Kristale.

 

Has anyone got a loan from them recently? What happens my claim if they go out of business?

According to the FCA register, Micro Credit (trading as MiniCredit) with the licence number of 0621701 and is still active.

They are. Microcredit are the parent company. Minicredit is trading name.


Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

thanks renegade. so does anyone know know if it was just microcredit who had their licence suspended or the did it affect the wider minicredit parent group

Microcredit Limited trade as: MiniCredit.co.uk and Minicashloans.co.uk

 

Microcredit have an active 'Interim permission' from the FCA. Consumer credit firms that held an OFT licence and wanted to continue to offer consumer credit had to register for interim permission.

 

Interim permission will last until a firm has to apply for authorisation or a variation of permission in its allocated application period, which will be between October 2014 and March 2016.

As that thread on t'other site is 7 months old and the OFT is no more, the FCA interim register shows they still have their licence.

 

At the time, the OFT was 'minded to revoke' the licence but didn't actually follow through.

 

Now that the FCA are running things, they work differently to the OFT and they don't say who is under investigation or not. It is only when the licence is gone that they release the news to the press.
