Aps ......Spoof Parcel Delivery Card - DCA?

Hiya,

 

 

has anyone ever heard of a courier company called APS,

 

 

i got a green card in postbox stating i had missed a delivery and to call their number to re-arrange,

 

 

i haven't because the card is very vague with no customer name or even address on,

 

 

plus i am not expecting a delivery.

 

 

A quick internet search throws up some mixed results,

anyone here help,

This may well be Proteus Investigations who pretend to deliver a parcel then serve papers.

Hey Silverfox, well, i do have debts, most of which are coming up to SB status, some already are. I do have 1 CCJ which is fairly recent.

 

I think it may be the above also, but surly they are not allowed to pretend to be a delivery firm, I have only had 1 card, which was a few weeks ago now, not heard anything since. Am i best of ignoring them.

From what i can gather, and the above link, they may be trying to deliver court papers, id guess re. CCJ and why i am not paying it, but what happens if they never serve it, because i am never in or refuse to sign, If i have never seen the actual letter/parcel i can't be blamed for missing any appointments which i didnt know existed or when.

APS stands for Associated Process Servers so it may be that they have some legal paperwork for you. Personally I think it may be a risk to ignore it as they may have some legal paperwork for you.

 

As for the card, I think that is misleading practice although a 'package' could be a box or a letter so I suspect they are just this side of the law.

The card says for the attention of, name/address, to which it just has door number, no name, no road name, just door number entered.

 

We missed you today when we called to deliver/collect

 

we have left your item at

 

Your neighbor at (blank)

a safe place (blank)

 

we have not delivered your item

 

re-delivery is available (ticked)

signature is required (blank)

 

Please call 0345 871 0011 to arrange re delivery.

 

From the info, they did not tick a sig is required and could have left with a neighbor or a safe place, so why did they not.

I've had 3 separate visits from APS over the last 2 months.

 

When the 1st one came, he asked for a Mr X as he had "important legal paperwork" that only Mr X can actually sign for.

 

I explained that Mr X has not lived @ my address since January this year. I was given a card on the 1st visit, to pass onto him if he ever showed up.

 

Mr X did not show up.

 

I've since had 2 more different guys from APS, they also say they are looking for Mr X as they too had "legal papers" that only he could sign for. Both times I explained he doesn't live here & hasn't done for quite a while now.

 

When the 3rd APS guy showed up, I told him I'm getting fed up with having to explain Mr X doesn't live here & hasnt for months, I also said that he was the 3rd APS agent to show up in a short space of time.

 

We got chatting & I asked the guy was it something to do with credit cards (as Mr X had serious Gambling issues which I never knew about). No he said, it's something else & has gone further than that. At this point he takes out a large envelope & turns it over so I could see the front off it for a few seconds & then was put away again.

 

What I had seen was a round seal & something to do with a Court. So my guess is that it's Court papers for Mr X & that these APS agents are some sort of process servers or something? Or I could be wrong.

 

I have attached the APS card that was left with me, which had nothing on it but a Ref No which I've redacted.

it would only be SD papers

they are made to look 'official' in a supposed envelope from the 'court'

its just a pretty envelope the DCA's use

In that case, how can I get them to stop visiting me then please?

 

As when I asked the 3rd guy, he told me to ring the number on that card I was given & to give the Ref No & tell them Mr X doesn't live here. But either noone answers the bliddin phone or it just cuts off....

Morning All!

 

Got home last night to a green card - no address / name, a reference number, a date, ticked we have a package for you.

Fortunately Uncle Google is my friend...it did make nice fire lighting paper.

 

I thought that this practice of mis-representation by a DCA (or agent) had been outlawed? Clearly some cowboys missed the telegram for mongo.

 

Needless to say, the number was not called, if they can't address it correctly, could have been for tom dick or harriet.

So I got another card yesterday. So I called them, 141.

 

They got my first two digits wrong of my address and the person was not me.

 

I know now the name and address of a person in my street whom they are attempting to contact.

 

The basic security questions were not asked.

Them : Is that Mr (Not Numbers)

Me: No its not (did not give my name)

Them : Are you sure its not Mr (x) of xyz street.

Them: Sorry to bother you, the driver has got the address wrong.

Me: Thats a shame, I thought I had an early xmas present!

I've had 3 visits myself & it's all gone quiet again. So hopefully now you have had 3 visits they won't be back.

 

Personally I do think they are being sneaky & using this "official Court documents" scenario as a front to trace & track down people.

 

As no one, other than the person who APS are after, can sign for these documents, I have no idea what they actually are or if they really exist or not.....

 

Not unless someone comes forward & says they did admit to being the person they are after & receives said documents! (I'd be interested to know what they actually say).

 

I agree with DX, that nothing further will happen, as I also have heard nothing more since.

Caught this guy leaving a card for someone that has not lived here for some time.

 

Watched him on the CCTV go to both my next door neighbours’ houses.

 

Also watched him turn his phone on to start recording the conversation he was expecting to have.

I had another card dropped through letterbox a couple days ago, thats 4 now.

 

 

Interesting what you say dx about trying other methods,

 

 

why don't they just send in post or by recorded delivery or something.

Also can someone just clarify one thing for me,

 

 

I do have 1 CCJ which was issued in january 2013,

 

 

the creditor tried numerous ways of getting payment without success

eg attachment of earnings (i am self employed)

property charge (i rent)

even a warrant seeking possessions (i have nothing of value)

 

 

they rejected my offer of £1 a month,

 

 

in the end i was ordered to pay £10 per month, which i did for a while,

then i lost creditors payment details,

requested new ones,

never got a reply,

 

 

since then have not paid the £10 a month.

 

 

I am assuming this SD, APS are trying to deliver is regarding this debt,

but am i right in thinking that as the creditor already have a CCJ against me

they don't even have to serve SD papers,

they can just petition for bankruptcy :/
