Can someone please advise, out of the 3 main agencies, which one is the most reliable.

 

So far, hubby has received responses from Experian and Call Credit.

 

Experian appears to be the most up to date - with Call Credit showing stuff that should have been long removed ?

 

Just waiting on Equifax.

Thanks Rebel - so, using Experian as the barometer, OH can write to Call Credit and tell them to remove all the information that shouldn't be there?

That's the best thing to do, they might state that the info they have is correct and you might have to send them proof.

 

An example of the different info they have:-

 

Credit Call will have Settled by an account.

Experian will have Satisfied by the same account.

Yes, The CRAs and the way they report data can be inconsistent. But remember, its mainly the Companies reporting the data that are responsible for any discrepancies.

The CRAs are mainly holders of the data. Callcredit are indeed the worst of them all as they can take a while to update.

Creditors can chose to share credit information with one, two or all of the agencies. or they could opt to share it with none of them. From what I understand, Call Credit is the least reliable.

 

I thought that might be the case. I will wait on Equifax and see if they are the same as Experian .

 

Where will I find the credit score number ? ( I have seen people say they have a score - 670 - 500 - 750) ? This is a paper report.

I think you have to pay extra for that. The number is a bit of a misnomer as all lenders have their own systems for deciding whether or not to lend. The number is just an estimated score system that the CRAs use.
