...Are they legit or has someone got access to private information and is using it?

 

I did have a text when I applied for JSA but I have been on ESA a few weeks now and never got anything until a few minutes ago which is strange unless the system had a fault and the message was delayed. It basically said:

 

"Your ESA has been awarded. We will confirm this by letter. We need fit notes/medical certificates in order to pay you"

Yes, best not to give them the number, though it can sometimes be helpful as I was due to sign on a while ago but it was on a day of industrial action so the JC sent me a text telling me I was excused signing and to attend next fortnight. At least it saved me £6 bus fare for a wasted journey.

Worry not, I think well ahead and have done since I signed on. I have my every day phone (contract smartphone) for emails, calendar and general use and an old PAYG phone for things like DWP which I check daily
