Do you trust Russia enough to install Kaspersky anti-virus on your computer.

I sure as hell wouldn't let it near mine, who knows what it is spying on and sending back to it's Soviet masters.

Theres loads of software I dont trust

Dont trust any remote desktop software, ive seen how poor some peoples passwords tend to be (google rockyou list) plus if someone got on your computer think of he havok, I can think of at least 3/4 things that cause trouble

LOL!

As my employers are a Russian computer and network security company, I thought I would just ramble off a few well known companies / websites / apps etc for you...

google.com Do you trust google? :) Sergey Brin (Russian born) is one of the co founders of google. One of googles best programmers actually lives near the Kremlin in Moscow. Petyr Metrichenv. (Russian born)

ask.com If you don't use google, maybe you use Ask Jeeves? Gary Chevsky (Russan born) one of the founding programmers.

C++ library Made by Alexie Stepanov (Russian born)

badoo Internet dating site made by Andrei (Russian born)

consumeractiongroup.co.uk Uses VBulletin software owned by Jelsoft / Internet brands - Various Russian programmers

skype Programmers from Estonia (former Russia, don't know their names)

RAR file format / WinRAR - Eugene something (Russian born)

Intel Did this come from Moscow, Russia?

Do you use a computer? :) Well, the first electronic computer was invented by Sergey (cant remember surname - Russian born)

As the best programmers / hackers are Russian, if I used Windows and needed an antivirus then I would naturally choose Kaspersky since it would follow that they know exactly what they are doing. (i am not employed by Eugene Kaspersky or Kaspersky labs)

The opinion of not trusting a company because it is Russian I find amusing. A lot of Russian computer / internet companies are aware of the unfounded distrust shown by westerners and register their business mainly in USA.

I would be more worried about the actual manufacturer of your computer. For example, if your computer was a 'lenevo' which I believe is banned by UK government departments... hmm.. who knows what happens within a lenovo computer.

Most computers are made in china despite being UK / American brands. Who knows what China is installing hidden away in your computer???

I am off to play Tetris and eat some borsch now - both Russian born! :)

If I've given you advice, then it is just my thoughts / opinions - doesn't mean I am right!

Russia and China, peas in a pod.

One Dictated by staunch KGB communist and the other by some weird bunch of Communist who want to rip off the world.

Notice how they both stick together.

Sadly it seems that the presiding President is content in taking Russia bad to its old days.

What is the EU doing running scared due to the economic impact on the EU as the EU get a lot of its economic resources from Russia.

What did the EU really think was going to happen when Mr Putin came to power who is KGB through and through as seems content on starting a new Cold War.

hi Conniff,

The difference being that in Russia, there are no computer manufacturers. In China, there are many computer manufacturers.

China has been involved in a lot of computer / internet hacking, espionage etc.

It would be very easy for China to install firmware into its computers, memory sticks, phones etc. So very easy... Yet so difficult to detect.

If there was such firmware installed, then the people in charge of the firmware can easily monitor all the communication. Not that there would be a person monitoring, it would be electronically monitored and certain keywords flagged up for personal monitoring. If the information is then found out to be useful, then anything from that device could then be set to be permanently monitored.

hi Stu,

As 007 it is only natural for you to be against Russia!

I dont believe Putin is content on starting a new cold war. He probably done some bad things in the past which he probably felt was for the greater good. Though not anything as bad as invading countries on the pretence it is for their greater good when infact it is for oil etc.

Recent events in Ukraine - there are different stories reported by the BBC propaganda machine etc and the Russian news. Many Ukranian women and children are fleeing to Russia. If Russia was so bad as reported by British media, then why are Ukranian citizens fleeing to Russia?

Sanctions against Russia? Most in Russia think so what of the sanctions! They mean nothing.

If I was in a life or death situation and was forced to trust Cameron, Obama or Putin, then it would be Putin.

I do not point the finger at all at the Russian people as I have a couple of friends that are from the Russia region.

It is Mr Putin that is forcing his hand and sadly starting to take Russia back to the Cold War if it wasn't why invade and partition part of Ukraine was it really a diplomatic decision decided by the people NO it was under the GUN.

So who is it that is supply the Rebels in Ukraine with Weapons?

There are so many questions concerning Ukraine. I do not know who supplied the rebels their weapons.

Possibly Russia? Possibly UK in amongst their billion pound export of weapons? Possibly many other countries!

So many questions and so very little answers....

Such as - who or what country recently stole all of Ukraines gold?

Who was responsible for shooting down the aircraft flying above Ukraine?

Why were two Ukranian fighter jets escorting the shot down aircraft? I am almost sure the fighter jets were not being controlled by the rebels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJawMaJZR9U

The answer to all of them is Russia, russia is well practiced at shooting down civilian airliners. If there's anything wrong in this world, it's Russia.

The Brainwashing Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) probably has not announced that Russia is sending 280 trucks full of emergency supplies to Ukraine... Also prob not announced the other fact that Ukranian women and children are still fleeing Ukraine to seek safety in Russia.

The general Russian attitude toward Ukraine is that they are uninterested in invading or taking over the country. Why would the largest country in the world be interested in such a small piece of land?

Russian media view on this is that Russian military are in Ukraine to protect the life of Russian people living in the country. When Yulia Tomoshenko (prob spelt wrong lol) said that it is time to grab the guns and go kill the russians and their leader, then I think it is only right that Russian military are in the country to protect the Russian citizens living there and to stabilise the situation and prevent it from becoming worse than it already is.

Ukranian citizens are split between those that want to be part of Russia and those that want to be part of EU.

What a load of bull. Ukraine doesn't need convoys of relief. If Russia wasn't thinking only of itself, those convoys would be on their way to Iraq.

Ukraine is the biggest grain producer and exporter in Europe, of course the reds have an interest.
