Make a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998, although I doubt you will get far if this is a closed account.

Documents are archived for six years after an account is closed.

There is a template in the CAG Library for you to amend to suit, there is a statutory fee of £10 for this, the bank has 40 days to comply.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.

It would be in your interest to request ALL data for the account rather that being specific about your requirements.

As Brig has already advised, if the account is closed, then it is likely they will say they dont have the information. Even if the account isnt closed, they might try to say they only keep data for 6 years.

Hi SK,

Although some replies to an SAR may include data older than the required 6 years, you would be pretty lucky to get transaction data from 10 years back.

Also please bear in mind that an SAR is a request for DATA and is unlikely to result in you obtaining copy statements.

It may help if you can expand briefly on why you want this data.

:-)

We could do with some help from you
