The headlamp aim isn't working on our Renault Laguna. Is it just the case of changing the headlamp or is there going to be some huge job which will cost more than the cars worth, around £400?

Thanks for the info on changing a bulb, but the problem is actually the light aim of the headlight. As you're probably aware you can raise and lower the head light beam. The mechanism that makes this possible is not working and because the aim of the headlight can not be altered, it failed its MOT.

At least I know how to change a bulb on our Renault. Its actually a Renault Laguna Mk1 1.6 16 valve RT. Yr 1999

If you have "how to mend or replace" headlight or aimer for headlight on your you tube, can you give me your you tube name, so I can watch that video. I would have mentioned the model and year of our car, but I've had many failed attempts posting my question on this forum and I only managed to post this one as I'd taken the year and model out of the thread title.

Cheers

I don't know about your Laguna specifically, but the headlamp aiming mechanism is commonly part of the headlamp unit. Either a breakers yard or ebay should get you a replacement headlamp complete for £25 or so.

when you try the lever is the motor running?

have a listen by the headlamp unit

its usually the little plastic srewthreads that gummed up with road crap its its electrically driver

if the motor is not running

check the fuse

that often blows as the motor tried to turn the gummed up plastic screws

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..
