Improvement on credit score will depend on what other accounts you have and their status, if there are late or missed payments showing I doubt any great improvement will be seen

Have you made any credit applications recently too many has a negative effect.

Time and good credit management will raise the "score".

Is this still the Lowell account?

You have said Lowell has agreed to remove it as a gesture of good will, if they have not done so make a formal complaint to Ms Sara de Tute, Director of Legal & Compliance at The Lowell Group.

If they are doing it as a "gesture of goodwill" they are probably trying to avoid the possibility of a court claim for any losses that you have suffered as a result ...

Reading through every thing now.

Oh..My sincere apologies. Thanks for the information about the posts.

Have you checked the credit files again, it would be a good idea to do so before I draft the letter for you.

Dear Brigadier2jcs ,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I have checked my credit file , but still default is there.

Detail :

I had Vanquis credit card earlier and

they have applied default without noticing me by letter and

later stage they sold the account to Lowell and change the default to Lowell. and

I have raised the query to Vanquis about the incorrect default ,

but they said to deal with Lowell,

when I sent 3 letter process to Lowell,

they replied saying as a gesture of good will we will closing the account,

but not stating anything about removing the default.

Please help Brigadier2jcs

Thank you.

Hi,

So Lowell have ceased chasing you?

I suggest a letter along the line of the following=.

Ms Sara de Tute

Director of Legal & Compliance

The Lowell Group.

Date:

Ref: use the one on their letter.

Dear Ms de Tute,

I refer to a letter from Lowell dated xx.xx.xxxx regarding an alleged debt arising from an account with Vanquis Bank, the letter states that Lowell has closed the account as a "gesture of goodwill" and the entry would be removed from my CRA files, however the entry still appears on my credit reference files, as Lowell became the data controller of the account when it was acquired would now expect Lowell to remove all adverse data from my credit files immediately.

Please confirm in writing within 14 days that the entries have been removed.

Signed for post is best, check delivery date.

There is contradictory information on this.

in your first post you said this...

they sent me a letter today stated that they going to remove the default as a gesture of good will

And in post #16 you said this...

they replied saying as a gesture of good willicon we will closing the account,

but not stating anything about removing the default.

So have they or have they not put in writing that they will remove the default?

Ok so we now know that Lowell have not said anything about removing the default and so your first post wasn't correct.

The default would have been placed by Vanquis not Lowell.

You have also said this...

(Vanquis) have applied default without noticing me by letter

So you did not get a Default Notice from Vanquis?

Did you actually default on the account through missing payments, stopping payments or making reduced payments?

Have you moved at all and is it possible the a Default Notice was sent to a previous address?

It is likely that Vanquis would be able to show that a DN was sent out although they are most unlikely to keep a copy.

You could SAR Vanquis to see what the communications log says in respect of a DN being sent out.

If you did actually default on the account then your chances of getting the default removed from your credit file are extremely low.

What we really need is the detail of how this all came about.

what is the actual date of the default in the debts summary [top]line please

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes post 1# is clear, a letter received stating default removal as " a gesture of good will" a point that formed the basis of my recommendation.

If no such assurance was made by Lowell my advice was pointless and I'm not surprised the letter sent has been ignored.
