I booked a holiday with onthebeach.co.uk in error due to the site not being user friendly.

I did not know the booking had been made as the total cost (including credit card surcharge) was not included until I proceeded with the booking.

It also initially showed the return flight being to Manchester and I had specified Liverpool Airport for travel.

At no point did it say the booking had been confirmed,

I therefore then booked the same holiday for a longer period, due to there not being much difference in price.

I can cancel the hotel but as the flights are with Ryanair, they are non refundable (and they are the majority of the holiday cost).

Please help. I only knew the booking had been made as I received a confirmation email,

but I was not checking my emails whilst looking for holidays!

as you paid by credit card

you can do a section 75 refund

http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/section-75-of-the-consumer-credit-act

phone your card provider

Hi, well just to update the forum,

as predicted from reading other people's experiences,

very difficult to get through to Ryanair (and expensive),

however they agreed to refund the flights,

said I would receive confirmation email which I never received.

Onthebeach.co.UK were however closed over the weekend,

did not reply to any emails and equally as difficult as Ryanair to telephone.

I have had confirmation that the holiday has been refunded, although not yet back on my credit card,

except for £12.92 which I think was the fee for using a credit card to pay with.

I say think, as the holiday has been closed down online and I have not had a breakdown of the refund.

All in all, a terrible company to deal with, although I'm relieved to get the majority of the cost refunded,

not that I've received it yet,

I don't feel I should be charged for using a credit card!

Does anyone know if it's possible to claim this charge back?

Thanks

Thanks I will try it, but now it's less than £100, does that matter?

no harm in asking where you now stand.

they can always bring pressure to bear

I was under the belief that 90% of these handing fees by credit card were outlawed long ago?
