i have been on reduced payments with Barclaycard for nearly a year

and recieved a letter asking for me to provide an accurate and up to date record of my financial position

my circumstances have not changed i am still on income support and carers allowance ( as i am caring for my dad)

can i reply i'm still on benefits or will Barclaycard have to see figures ie income and my outgoings

thanks

Send them a very simple budget summary and a copy of a benefits confirmation letter. The benefits office / jobcentre should be able to give you a quick covering letter confirming you are still on them.

To me it sounds like standard practice. Theyve been good enough to reduce payments for a year, and they simply want to confirm that you still to be on reduced payments. Just dont send them a comprehensive I&E. A simple summary will do fine.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

how old is this card?

got any £12 PENALTY charges or PPI to reclaim?

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Stephanie and welcome to CAG

Yes, just send BC a Budget Summary showing your current I&Exp're.

Have BC stopped adding penalty charges and interest whilst accepting your reduced pay'ts.

:-)

We could do with some help from you

hi thanks for your replies the card account is well over 10 years old i havent had any penalty charges but ..BarclayCard are still charging me 3.5% they were iniitally charged 12.8% at the start of DMP but i moaned about it and they reduced it again

i did have ppi but when checking back i had made one claim about 12 years ago when i was made redundant then new job was temp contracts so cancelled the ppi

i will send a income expenditure form and see what they say and see if i can get a covering letter from Benefits dept

They should be stopping interest completely if you are in financial trouble. They are profiting off your circumstances and are not doing anything to help you get the debt down.

Hi Stephanie,

If your I&E summary shows you can still only afford small payments, you should also ask BC to reduce interest to NIL, in accordance with The Lending Code guidance concerning customers in financial difficulty.
