E-cigs/personal vapourisers whatever you want to call them are at least a 1000 times safer than tobacco. Why ban a product that costs the tax payer nothing and has the potential of saving lives on a scale never envisioned by the quit brigade?

Easy to answer, follow the money. If everybody who smokes stopped today all the tobacco control/smoke free/ CRUK money makers would be out of a job.

There is a general move by governments (worldwide) to stop younger people taking up smoking. Not so long ago, the tobacco companies were virtually giving away their products in Asia, to get more people addicted to nicotine, as they had lost business in the west. I think they are still doing this and if these e cigs are also a threat, I should imagine they tobacco companies are lobbying governments to get the e cigs banned on h&s grounds.

We could do with some help from you.

Having no willpower I tried every " official "anti smoking aid on the market,, the large tablets burnt my throat the small ones blistered my mouth, the patches blistered my skin , the imitation cig gave me very sore red guppy lips many wasted pounds later I deduced from all this I was allergic to something in them all.

I had two things left to try e-cigs or hypnosis so I got a trial pack of e-cigs ( not holding out much hope ) but I have not smoked a real cigarette from that day.

I hope government won't get silly about this issue the money that is not going up in smoke is still going back into the economy.

If they can't kill it they'll tax it.

Not so much, it's the big pharmaceutical companies. They have cornered the market in NHS approved devices and don't want anyone raining on their lucrative parade. There's also big money in the drugs used to treat smoking related disease. Cures don't translate into profit, repeat business is all.
