Hi

My grandfather passed away in March last year.

He had a telephone line with the post office.

The outstanding balance was £48.00.

I called the post office who asked me to send in proof of death, which i did and never got back,

nor did i receive any further correspondence until

January this year, it was a reminder from the post office,

i rang them and asked them to send out a bank credit slip to pay the bill, nothing.

At the end of February i receive a letter from Roxburghe threatening for payment of £66.80.

I rang the post office who apologised and told me that when i first ever contacted them there was a problem with staffing

, but did tell me that wasn't my problem!

I was promised that because of the inconvenience the account would be cleared and closed.

I accepted this and after receiving an invoice from the post office dated 13/3/2014 with a balance of £0.00

i put it down to a bad experience and accepted that things can go wrong.

Today i have received another letter from Roxburghe,

dated 21/3/2014 threatening my deceased grandfather with legal action.

I rang them and they were most rude and unhelpful.

I then contacted the post office and was passed through five different call handlers

one been a sales handler! and they are now saying that they will contact Roxburghe and stop the letters.

I want to find out about others experience of this agency

and really if i can believe that these letters will stop?

or do i need to escualte this further with Roxburghe.

I am absolutely beside myself with upset about this.:-x

Roxburghe are dealing in their DCA arm here and not their Bailiffs here.

You have proof of that invoice yes? Thats all you need

To be honest, Roxies stand no chance... They cant pursue you for a debt thats not yours with this being your grandfathers.

If things get really bad, go to the Telecoms Ombudsman who will beable to help you out.

Post office should pull this account back after confirming with you today.

We could do with some help from you.

It really has been like talking to a brick wall! It amazes me that the Post office haven't got the ability to deal with families of people that have passed away! Surely they must deal with this everyday! I'm so annoyed about the debt collection agency and their complete disregard to the whole situation.

ROX are tools... Simple... While normally I would ignore ROX, maybe its worth sending a copy of the death certificate to them... They will then back down.

Roxburghe recently had their licence revoked, they are appealing this, you should complain to the OFT, I'm sure they would be very interested with your issue.

US President Barack Obama referred to Ugland House as the biggest building in the world or the biggest tax SCA* in the world.

Arh yes... I completely forgot about their license being revoked...

Fair old point from broken arrow... I agree, complaint to the OFT is in order
