I bought a pack bell in feburary this year. approx april the usb port came off in my hand. i phoned them to ask only for them to say it was not under warranty and it was my fault. what do i do ? as this was plstic ? The same thing is happening to the other usb port ?

If you bought it in February then it should still be under warranty, but remember that a warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, it does not replace them.

Have you contacted the retailer? They have a duty to deal with your complaint under the SOGA - don't waste your time contacting the manufacturer.

What did you buy? Packard Bell make lots of things... PCs, printers, scanners, etc.

How do you mean the usb port came off? It is usually flush with the case?

Yes....so how has the usb "come off" ??? Unless it is a strangely designed PC(and I mean very strangely), it would take a hell of a lot to dislodge a usb port, faulty or not.

Its The Plastic Bit That You Attach The Usb Cable To Not The Whole Thing !!!

OK...the "bit you attach the cable to" is metal, maybe in a plastic housing, flush on the case. Do you mean the plastic housing has come away?

Well, that is cosmetic damage, and I would say not a manufacturing issue.

Is still cosmetic damage, and still not a manufacturing fault!

Actually, you can get a 4 port one in Poundland. Before you ask, it costs £1. AND it comes in different colours, for the well-coordinated man or woman. ;-)
