I bought this plasma t.v from currys online,

after using it for a week and watching dvd's I have noticed where there were black bars on the dvd's,

that where those black bars were is now a bit lighter than the centre of the screen.

I thought burn in was a thing of the past of plasma t.v's, I guess I was wrong.

Where do I stand on sending this item back to currys for a replacement/refund?

Would they consider this a faulty product as I very much do.

I bought it online and have passed the 7day return law.

It may not be permanent - it may just be retention.

Leave the TV on a 24 hour TV channel which has no on-screen logos overnight or longer

and don't watch DVD's which have black borders for a while and you will probably find that it goes away.

However, screen burn is more of a risk if the TV isn't yet run in.

I am on my second plasma and neither have had permanent burn in.

I have however, had retention that has taken as much as a week to clear.

Depending on how you paid you have other options if the product is faulty. Time limits apply.
