I am guessing that the loaning out of the aircraft does not remove responsibilities of the plane owner under the Civil Aviation Act. Your friend would need to see a Solicitor that handles such matters, which I should imagine is a small number. Perhaps contact the Law Society and they will have a list of Solicitors who deal with aviation type disputes.
